How to schedule Bluesky posts with Bloom
- Create an app password in BlueskyIn Bluesky, open Settings, then Privacy and security, then App passwords, and add one called “Bloom”.

Does Bluesky have a scheduler built in?
No. As of 23 October 2026, neither the Bluesky app nor the website can schedule a post. Bluesky added drafts in February 2026, but a draft has no time attached: it waits until you open it and press Post. Scheduling has been requested on Bluesky’s public tracker since July 2024 and has not shipped, so a post that should go out at 8am on Thursday needs a separate tool to hold it until then. Other Bluesky schedulers, and where their free plans stop
Bloom is not the only free way to schedule Bluesky, and a page that said otherwise would be lying to you. From each company’s own pricing page on 15 September 2026:
- Buffer: Bluesky on the free plan, 3 channels and 10 scheduled posts per channel; paid is $5 per channel a month.
- Publer: Bluesky on the free plan, 3 accounts and 10 pending posts each, X excluded; paid is $5 per account a month.
- Metricool: Bluesky listed; the free plan is 1 brand and 20 posts a month.
- SocialBee ($29 a month), Hootsuite ($99 per user a month) and Postiz ($29 a month hosted, free if you run it yourself): Bluesky yes, free plan no.
- Later: no Bluesky among its listed networks.

Why an app password is the safe way to connect
An app password is a separate password Bluesky creates just for one app. It can post for you, but it can’t change your account settings or your real password, and you can revoke it in Bluesky at any time without affecting anything else. Bloom never asks for your main Bluesky password.
Content labels on Bluesky
Bluesky lets people label posts that shouldn’t be shown to everyone. Posts from Bloom’s Business workspace go out without a content label. Posts from the Creator workspace carry Bluesky’s adult-content self-label, so they’re only shown to people who have chosen to see that kind of content.
The details: video, alt text, threads and image size
Video. A Bluesky post carries one video or up to four photos, never both. Bloom uploads video the way Bluesky recommends, so it plays as soon as the post appears; the ceiling is 100MB, or your plan’s per-file limit if that is lower.
Alt text. Add a description of up to 1,000 characters to each image and to a video. It travels with the post, where screen readers and Bluesky’s own alt badge can use it.
Threads for long captions. Bluesky stops at 300 characters. If you ask for a thread, Bloom breaks a long caption into numbered posts of up to 25 pieces, split where a reader would pause, so no piece reads as cut off. If you do not ask, it shortens the caption to fit.
Image size. Bluesky accepts images of about 1MB. Bloom resizes larger photos to fit, so a full-resolution camera file posts without you exporting a smaller copy.
You can connect up to ten Bluesky accounts on any plan, each with its own app password, and pick which ones a post goes to.
