Does Bluesky have a post scheduler?
Short answer: no. Bluesky’s own app has no button for posting later — when you press Post, it goes out. Here is why, what people use instead, and the limits worth knowing before you plan a week of posts.

The short answer
As of 2026-09-15, neither the Bluesky app nor the Bluesky website includes post scheduling. There is no “schedule” option in the composer, no drafts queue with times attached, and no setting that holds a post until later. Everything you write publishes the moment you send it.
That is the whole answer, and it hasn’t changed in a while. Bluesky has spent its development effort on moderation, custom feeds and account portability rather than on publishing tools. If you want a post to go out at 8am on Thursday, something other than Bluesky has to hold it until then.
Why Bluesky doesn’t have one built in
Bluesky runs on the AT Protocol, an open protocol where your account, your posts and your follows live in a repository that other software can read and write with your permission. The Bluesky app you use is one client among many, not the only way in.
That design pushes features like scheduling outward. Rather than building a queue into the app, Bluesky exposes an API and lets other tools handle it. This is why there are more third-party Bluesky tools than you would expect for a platform of its size, and why connecting one is straightforward instead of a fight.
It also means a scheduling tool does not need special partner access or an approval process the way Instagram and TikTok tools do. Anyone can build against the protocol. The practical upshot for you: scheduling Bluesky posts is usually the easiest connection to set up in any tool that supports it.
The three ways people schedule Bluesky posts
1. A reminder, and post by hand
Free, and it works. Put the post in your notes app, set an alarm, and paste it in when the alarm goes off. The catch is obvious: you have to be awake, free and near your phone at exactly that moment, which defeats most of the reason people schedule in the first place.
2. A script you run yourself
If you write code, the API is open and the libraries are good. A small script plus a scheduled job can post for you. This suits developers who already run a server and enjoy maintaining one more thing. It suits nobody else, because the moment your machine sleeps or a token expires, your posts stop and nothing tells you.
3. A scheduling tool that supports Bluesky

Bluesky limits to plan around
- 300 characters. Bluesky counts graphemes, so an emoji or an accented character costs one, not several. A caption written for Instagram will almost always need trimming.
- Four images per post. Attach up to four; there is no carousel of ten as on Instagram.
- No video through Bloom yet. Bluesky supports video in its own app, but Bloom does not upload video to it.
- Links are fine. Unlike X, there is no extra cost or penalty for including a link, so Bluesky is a good place to send people to a page.
- Threads are manual. If you want a multi-post thread, write the follow-ups yourself once the first post is live.
Is scheduling Bluesky posts worth it?
It depends on how you use the platform. Bluesky rewards conversation, and a feed of posts that clearly went out on a timer while nobody was home reads exactly like that. The approach that works for most people is a mix: schedule the posts that do not need you present — announcements, links to new work, the recurring update you make every week — and show up live for replies and anything timely.
