Comparison
Bloom vs Later
Later is built for Instagram-first creators and brands, and it is good at that. Bloom costs a fraction of it and has a free plan. The catch is a real one, and it is about Instagram — so here it is up front.
Free plan. No card needed. Works on the web, Android and iPhone.
The catch, first
Later’s core strength is Instagram: it publishes to Instagram business and creator accounts, plans your grid, and has done for years.
Bloom’s Instagram publishing is built but waiting on Meta’s App Review approval, which means you cannot connect Instagram in Bloom today. If Instagram is the reason you want a scheduler, Later does the job now and Bloom does not. That is the whole picture, and nothing below changes it.
Price
Later has no free plan — there is a 14-day trial. Starter is $25 a month, or $18.75 a month billed yearly, and covers one social set of eight profiles, 30 posts per profile per month and one user; extra users are $5 each. Growth is $50 a month ($37.50 yearly) and adds approvals. Scale is $110 ($82.50 yearly).
Bloom’s free plan has no time limit. Pro is $4.99 a month or $49.99 a year; Plus is $12.99 or $129.99 a year. Bloom is bought inside the app through the App Store or Google Play rather than on the web.

Networks
Later publishes automatically to Instagram, Facebook, TikTok business accounts, LinkedIn, Pinterest, YouTube, Threads and Snapchat. Bluesky does not appear anywhere on its pricing page.
Bloom publishes automatically to undefined, and to X on paid plans within its caps.undefined TikTok arrives as a draft in your inbox; Reddit, Threads, YouTube and Tumblr are ready-to-post kits.
If Bluesky matters to you, that is the clearest split on this page: Later doesn’t do it and Bloom does it on the free plan.
Both say “for creators”. They mean different things
Later means the visual planning side: the grid preview, the media library, link-in-bio, and analytics on how posts performed. It is a marketing tool, priced for people whose job is marketing.
Bloom means the business side of being self-employed: what you earned this month, what you spent, roughly what you owe in quarterly tax, and a link page with click counts. It plans and publishes posts, but it does not try to be a design studio.
Neither is better in the abstract. One is for the person running the account as their job; the other for the person whose account is a means to an income they need to track.
What Bloom does not do
- Instagram and Facebook. Publishing is built but waiting on Meta’s App Review approval, so you can’t connect them yet. Every tool on this page publishes to both today.
- X is capped. Pro sends up to 5 X posts a day and none of them may contain a link; Plus lets 1 of them carry a link. The other tools don’t cap X posts.
- TikTok is a draft. Bloom uploads your video to your TikTok inbox and you tap to finish it. Most tools here publish to TikTok directly.
- Reddit, Threads, YouTube and Tumblr are kits. Bloom prepares the post for you to paste. That is not publishing.
- No LinkedIn and no Pinterest.
- Results are typed in by you. Bloom doesn’t import analytics from any platform, so “your best time to post” only works once you’ve logged a few results.
- One person per account. No seats, no approvals, no client workspaces.
Later also gives you approval workflows and multi-user plans, which Bloom has no version of at any price.

Which one suits you
Choose Later if Instagram is the point, if you need the visual grid planning, if you want analytics you didn’t type in, or if more than one person touches the account.
Choose Bloom if $25 a month is more than the account currently earns, if you want a free plan rather than a trial, if you post to Bluesky, or if you want your income tracked next to your posting.
Frequently asked questions
Does Later have a free plan?
No. Later offers a 14-day free trial, after which the cheapest plan is $25 a month, or $18.75 a month billed yearly. Bloom’s free plan has no time limit.
Does Later post to Bluesky?
Bluesky is not listed among the networks Later publishes to on its own pricing page. Bloom publishes to Bluesky automatically, including on the free plan.
Is Bloom a good Later alternative for Instagram?
Not today. Bloom’s Instagram publishing is built but waiting on Meta’s approval, so Instagram-first users should stay with a tool that publishes there now.
How many posts can I schedule?
Bloom doesn’t cap scheduled posts on any plan, including free. Later’s Starter plan allows 30 posts per profile per month.
Write it once. Bloom posts it everywhere.
Connect your accounts, schedule your first post and let Bloom publish it. The free plan includes automatic posting to Bluesky and scheduling for every platform.
