Comparison

Free social media schedulers, compared on where they run out

Every free plan has a ceiling. Some cap posts per month, some cap channels, some cap what you can upload, some leave out whole networks. Here are the free plans that have no time limit, as their own pricing pages described them on one day, and the limit you will hit first on each.

Free plan. No card needed. Works on the web, Android and iPhone.

Trial-only, so not in the table: Later and Hootsuite (14 days), SocialBee (14 days), Postiz and Nuelink (7 days), Loomly. Fedica’s free Bluesky scheduler is covered on free Bluesky schedulers compared.

The four kinds of ceiling

Posts. Metricool (20 a month), Pallyy (15 a month) and Buffer (10 waiting per channel) cap how much you schedule. Post daily on one account and all three run out inside a month; Buffer’s cap refills as posts go out, the other two reset monthly.

Accounts. Buffer allows three channels, Metricool and Pallyy one brand or set, Zoho one brand. A creator with Instagram, Facebook, Bluesky, X and TikTok exceeds all of them. Bloom does not cap accounts.

Media. Pallyy’s free plan is images only, and Planoly’s mobile tier counts uploads. Bloom’s free plan takes photos and video but caps the vault at 500MB, which a month of Reels can fill.

Networks. Metricool’s free plan leaves out LinkedIn and X; Zoho keeps Bluesky for paid plans; Bloom keeps automatic X posting for paid plans because X charges apps per post, and never supports LinkedIn or Pinterest.

Which free plan fits which person

  • One account, a few posts a week: any of them. Pick on the interface you like.
  • Several accounts, posting most days, mostly photos and text: Bloom, because posts and accounts are not capped. Buffer if you want LinkedIn or Pinterest in the mix and can live with ten queued per channel.
  • You want real analytics for free: Metricool. It pulls 30 days of data from the platforms; Bloom’s free plan only knows what you log yourself.
  • Video every day: none of these free plans is comfortable. Bloom’s 500MB vault fills fastest with video; Pallyy excludes video entirely.
  • X is your main network: no free plan here posts to X automatically without a catch. Metricool and Bloom both put it behind payment.

Bloom’s free plan also includes the income ledger, which none of the others has at any price, and it has no AI anywhere, which is either the point or a dealbreaker.

Frequently asked questions

Is there a social media scheduler that is completely free?

Several have free plans with no time limit: Bloom, Buffer, Metricool, Pallyy and Zoho Social, plus Planoly’s mobile tier. Each has a ceiling. Bloom’s is storage (500MB) and X auto-posting; Buffer’s is 3 channels and 10 queued posts each; Metricool’s is 20 posts a month.

Which free scheduler has no post limit?

Of the six compared here, Bloom’s free plan has no cap on scheduled posts or connected accounts. The others cap posts (Buffer, Metricool, Pallyy, Planoly) or brands (Zoho).

Do free plans include Bluesky?

Bloom, Buffer and Pallyy list Bluesky and include it on their free plans. Zoho Social keeps Bluesky for paid plans. Planoly, Later, Hootsuite and Nuelink either do not list Bluesky or do not have a free plan.

Why not just use a trial?

A 7- or 14-day trial covers one burst of scheduling, then bills you. A free plan with no time limit is the only way to run a scheduler for months at no cost. Every tool in the table above is the second kind.
